Dessi has graduated from Dental School in Bulgaria in 2001 and continued her Dental career in USA where she spent 10yrs gaining vast experience in cosmetic dentistry and treating periodontal diseases. In 2009 she moved to the UK where she has continued to widen her experience. Dessi has undertaken further studies in short term orthodontics (Six Months Smile) and Dental implants (Bicon). Dessi therefore has demonstrated her ability to improve patients smile to their satisfaction, she has applied 6months smile and Dental implants. Dessi has been committed in attending courses and seminars to keep abreast with emerging Dental technology and practice. Using this knowledge Dessi will ensure that our Client’s Dental needs will be adequately met. I qualified in 1998 as a dentist. I have also completed a post-graduate certificate program in medical education at Cardiff University where I achieved a fellowship in recognition of attainment against the U.K Professional Standards Framework for teaching and learning support in higher education.

I am a speaker for Thames Valley and LKSS deanery (Health Education England) and conduct Hands-on Minor Oral Surgery courses for dentists. I also deliver periodic lectures in oral surgery including current thinking aimed to boost confidence in oral surgical procedures.

Using my passion for involvement in patient care and teaching, I have built an academically and clinically strong career. I am currently dedicating half my time to teaching and my other half to working as a specialty doctor in oral and maxillofacial surgery (Royal Berkshire Hospital-Reading and West Berkshire Community Hospital Newbury) and general practice limited to oral surgery.

Aravind was selected to pursue his masters training as an Orthodontist from TNGDC, Chennai, based on his undergraduate achievement. He spent over 20 years as an orthodontic practitioner and mentoring dental students, before relocating to the UK in 2006. Over the years he has gained vast experience in managing malocclusions of varying severity. Aravind uses wide variety of orthodontic and orthopaedic appliances to achieve ideal results.

Following recent certification, Aravind has added Incognito lingual orthodontics to list of other treatment modalities like the fixed appliance, functional and clear aligner.

Aravind continues update skills by regularly attending course and meetings. Aravind conducts courses for general dentist and nurses on orthodontics.

Hygienist

Funmbi Ande is our Dental Hygienist who got registered with GDC in March 2024. She trained as a Dentist in Nigeria and is excited to bring her skills and experience to provide hygiene therapy to the clients at Octagon Dental Centre.
